Helmet in the Shape of Mount Fuji with White Lacing 白糸威富士山形兜しろいとおどしふじさんなりのかぶと

Description

In the late 1500s, samurai warlords fielded massive armies as they battled each other for control of Japan. They began to wear helmets with extravagant designs that expressed their ambitions. This black-lacquered example represents the sacred Mount Fuji, a symbol of power and immortality. Its snowy peak is rendered in silver leaf.
