Description
These pieces imitate metal or cloissone nail covers and were once owned by the Kyōgoku family lords of the Marugame domain (present-day Kagawa prefecture). Although unsigned, from records it is known that they were regarded as Omuro ware. Omuro ware was produced at Ninsei’s first kiln located in the Omuro district of Kyoto in the vicinity of Ninna-ji Temple.
