Description
This painting was created in 1897 at Ashinoko Lake in Hakone, which Kuroda visited for a summer retreat with his future wife, Teruko. This work is characterized by its invigorating and uncomplicated style. It has been featured on stamps and in textbooks, making this work familiar to many Japanese.
