Description
Under the peach blossoms, a traveling toy merchant bangs on his drum to call children to his cart. It is filled with puppets, snacks, masks, and so on. Such performances of actors as merchants were held in the Ming-dynasty (1368–1644) court during the Lantern Festival to pray for the prosperity of the year ahead.
