Description
明治25年（1892）2月、喜寿を迎えた黙阿弥の自筆。誕生日の2月3日に祝い事をして、二度目の真の引退をする披露目の配り物をし、人の求めに応じて「火の用心」（自火を出さないお守りになるという）や「㐂（喜）」字を書いたという。国立劇場には軸装の自筆による書も所蔵がある。本資料を収める封筒の表書きに、河竹登志夫氏のものらしいペン書きで「掛軸写真・ガラスタネ板」とある。写真版の増刷に用いられたのだろうか。
