昭和10年（1935）の興行成績掛軸。備考欄の1月10日には「松田文相ヨリ官邸ニまねかれて「君、日本精神発揚ノタメニ大イニ勉強シテクレ」ト……」とある。松田文相とは昭和9年（1934）7月に組閣された岡田啓介内閣で文部大臣を務めた松田源治（1875〜1936）のこと。大衆に人気のあった五郎劇を利用して国民精神の涵養に努めようとする政治家は多く、五郎もまたそのような政治家の誘いを喜んでいた。
