博文館が刊行していた日記帳『大正四年当用日記』。1月1日の頁から記述は始まっているが、その内容は大正4年（1915）ではなく、昭和22年（1947）のもの。古川緑波が詳細に日記をつけていたのは有名だが、五郎に日記をつける習慣があったかは不明だ。
