Description
小さな浴衣地の布切である。一方は「三升・寿の字海老・牡丹」、もう一方は「斧・菊・五」の模様で、黙阿弥が特に明治期に入って作品を提供した九代目市川團十郎と五代目尾上菊五郎にちなむ意匠である。黙阿弥は凝った模様の手拭布等も収集し、貼り交ぜ帖を制作する道楽があったので、そのための用意だったか。ともに河竹繁俊の筆で「糸女より」と記される袋に入っており、父の作品で活躍した両優にたいする糸女の思いが伝わる。
