新講談「福昌寺仇討」の挿絵。夫を殺されたおさよが6歳の息子に対し、将来は父の仇を討つよう諭す場面を描く。本図のような挿絵入りのページは、文字を活版で組み、挿絵を木版で制作していたと考えられる。これらから紙型を作成、鉛を鋳込んで鉛版を作り、印刷していた。
