Description
河竹繁俊へ宛てたもの。送り主で「浅草区雷門」の竹柴吉五郎は門弟筋か。「三月十二日」という日付のみ記載されるが、封筒の表書にある住所が早稲田大学内の演劇博物館であること（昭和3年（1928）開館）、「二代目河竹新七（六十年）」が没後60年を指すとすれば昭和28年（1953）頃と考えられる。必要あって写真を送付する際の手紙らしい。
