Description
江漢による一連の銅版日本風景図と同じく、反射式のぞき眼鏡で鑑賞するための眼鏡絵のひとつとして描かれたものです。天明3年(1783)に江漢が初めて銅版画として創作した「三囲景」に前後する時期の制作とされています。右方に見える威嚇するライオンは、平賀源内などが所有していた『ヨンストン動物図譜』からとられたものです。全体の構図は同じく江漢による天明４年（1784）の銅版眼鏡絵「広尾親父茶屋」を左右反転したものに近いのですが、全くの異国風景にアレンジしています。 【江戸の絵画】
