Description
木製の特徴的な円錐形鏡筒の屈折望遠鏡は、航海望遠鏡（navigation telescope、marine telescope）と呼ばれるものである。揺れる船上で使いやすいようにシンプルなつくりであり、対物レンズと接眼レンズの間に正立レンズがはいっている、船舶や陸地の目標物に監視に用いられた航海の必需品であった。武雄鍋島家旧蔵品。
