日米野球で来日したベーブ・ルース。光陽は警備状況の記録で試合の行われた神宮球場へ出かけたが、ホームラン王の一挙手一投足を見ようと大勢の野球ファンが詰めかけ、大変な騒ぎであった。この日米野球をきっかけに、読売ジャイアンツの前身で、日本初のプロ野球チームである「大日本東京野球倶楽部」が結成された。
