This Mosasaurus fossil was found in a stream in the town in 1990. The specimen was found to date from the Campanian age of the Late Cretaceous period (from around 84 million to 72 million years ago) based on research on the age of small fossils of radiolarians contained in a geological formation near where the Mosasaurus fossil was discovered. However, it remains unknown to which Mosasaurus group the fossilized Mosasaurus belonged.
