These programs are printed media that were published or distributed for promotional purposes between the pre- and post-war periods.\n The first free film programmes in Japan were published as promotional printed media by the Asakusa Denkikan in 1907. By the 1920s, when the film industry was firmly established in Japan, programs were being published by numerous movie theaters throughout the country. Few theaters published programs around 1943 due to the government's strict wartime control over resources and culture. However, the situation began to recover in the post-war period. Aside from a few luxury theaters specializing in Western films, it appears that programs were distributed for free in the pre-war period and, in many instances, sold in the post-war period.\nMovie pamphlets started being uniformly published and sold across Japan in the 1960s. Because programs were published by various movie theaters, they serve as valuable primary source documents that provide context for a given film at the time of its release. For example, programs provide us with a \"When\" (publication date), a \"Where\" (name of the movie theater) and a \"How\" (concurrent review screenings and live performances).","ja":"映画館プログラムとは、「演劇博物館デジタル・アーカイブ・コレクション」内「映画館プログラムデータベース」に登録された約10000冊のプログラム （日本の映画館が戦前から戦後にかけ、自館で興行する映画やレビューを宣伝・広告するために発行・配布した印刷メディア）を指します。\n映画館プログラムは、1907年に浅草電気館が発行して以来、映画産業が確立される1920年代にかけ、多くの映画館が発行するようになる宣伝・広告用の印刷メディアである。戦中の資源統制・文化統制により、1943年頃から発行する映画館数が大幅に減少するが、戦後すぐに回復し始める。一部の洋画専門の高級館を除き、戦前は無料配布されたが、戦後は有料販売された場合が多いようである。\n 1960年代頃より、全国一律で発行・販売される「パンフレット」が主流になる。プログラムは映画館がそれぞれに発行したため、ある映画作品が上映された際のコンテクスト （いつ＝発行年月日／どこで＝映画館名／どのように＝同時上演されたレビューや実演など）を知るための重要な一次資料となる。"},"id":"enpk_eigaprogram","image":{"contentId":"waseda_enpaku-BnM9kXngg81","description":{},"imageId":"qXJJ2p94qR2","imgType":"UPLOAD","title":{}},"lastDataUpdated":1663814151761,"metadataRights":{"en":"CC BY 4.0","ja":"CC BY 4.0"},"name":{"en":"The database of free film programmes","ja":"映画館プログラムデータベース","yomi":"えいがかんぷろぐらむでーたべーす"},"notification":{},"permission":{"level":"PUBLIC","ownerOrg":"waseda_enpaku","publicationLevel":"PUBLIC"},"rdfDate":1740989724654,"rdfEnabled":true,"recordCount":10891,"subCategory":["映画館プログラム"],"thumbnailRights":{"ja":"演劇博物館　画像利用について（https://enpaku.w.waseda.jp/enpaku/visitor/digital-imaging/）をご確認ください。"},"url":"https://archive.waseda.jp/archive/subDB-top.html?arg={%22subDB_id%22:%2231%22}&lang=jp"}
